The first thing I can think of is to make sure your roms are in the correct folder ( SD:/wii64/roms/ ). Also, make sure they are not in a .zip file; They should be .v64 .z64 or .n64 files. I've never loaded roms from a DVD so I can't help there. new to site but not to homebrew etc

my wii is my life almost

I'm an old gamer with mame snes nes n64 genesis emulators et and roms running good but could be better with a bit of help here ..

is there much help here from this site I hope so as it seems to have lots of questions etc



ive been looking for a few answers about a back up of the system etc like I see about saving the system in event of a crash

I'm at the latest wii software 4.3e know there is no more updates from Nintendo to the wii anyhow but just in case and mame roms

have a few mame roms running but a lotlot more crash seen the guys site about wha games work but even though I get a few they still crash I know about cmd files etc and if there needed

but backing up firsy in more important so any help appreciated

I'm wondering what is required to install the AnyRegion Changer on my Wii, I already have the Homebrew Channel installed, and how to change my system settings without having to worry about it bricking.

Would this setting allow for me to play my imported Japanese games?
Language Setting: Japanese
Console Area Setting: Japanese
Game Region Setting: Japanese
Console Video Mode: NTSC (unchanged)
Shop Country Code: 49 (unchanged, because I won't be using the shop)
System Menu Region: Japanese
And choosing to install the System Menu 3.2? Having the main Wii menu, or the entire console in Japanese wouldn't bother me because I can read it.

I tried wii64 and it wouldn't load my N64 rom (namely Conker's Bad Fur Day, which I've still got the N64 game cartridge for but haven't got an N64 any more) came up with errors. Tried Not64. It loaded the rom for a couple of minutes and then did a memory dump. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong?!?!
In Not64 turn FB Textures on and set Audio Speed Limit to DL. I'm playing MGS and once it says to insert Disc 2 I go to "Current ISO" and select disc 2 than "Resume Game" but nothing happens.

Please tell me what you did to get full music, full voice acting sound. I downloaded a CD version of the game and DOSBox and I managed to get it up, I just can't hear anything despite having the "speech" version of the game activated. Each time I increase the volume and test it, the game automatically pushes the volume back down to zero.

If I click on the SD Card option a list of the folders appears in the window (all present and correct). However, if I attempt to open any folders to see the contents I'm presented with the device list again instead.

This prevents me loading roms from the normal rom folder so I tried moving the roms to the root of the SD. These will appear in the list but when I try to load them I get a message "Error can't load game".

I have tried re-formatting the sd card using windows and several 3rd part tools. And tried two seperate SD cards to no avail.

I can use:

Snes9xGX (no problems)
Wii64 (no problems)

When I launch GenPlus I can select a ROM play it without problems. However, if I try to load another ROM after one has already been loaded my ROMS folder (under Genplus) appears to be empty. To load another game I must return to homebew loader and re-launch the emulator.

This seems like an obvious bug, however nobody else is talking about it? This being closest desciption to my problem I've found so far:

He had various black screen issues (which I didn't)
He had to re-install genplus to bring his ROMS back, I only have to re-launch

He claims to have fixed it by re-formatting his SD using a panasonic tool. I've tried several format methods & several sd cards, but I can still only load the 1st ROM, after that, they can't be found again until genplus has been fully closed down and re-launched.
