I've barley seen any news about Wii Homebrew apps since forever ago. Are people still developing apps for Wii Homebrew, or is the entirety of Wii Homebrew apps dead? I know CTGPR is still getting updates though.

I have a North American (Canada) Wii and I want to try and play some of my imported NTSC-J games (both GC and Wii), but I can't really find a guide on how to install AnyRegion Changer. The wiki links to an information video about the application's capabilities, but not so much its installation or use. The reason why I'm cautious about this is that there's the possibility of bricking my Wii with this. The only guide that I can find for its installation is in French.

I'm wondering what is required to install the AnyRegion Changer on my Wii, I already have the Homebrew Channel installed, and how to change my system settings without having to worry about it bricking.

Would this setting allow for me to play my imported Japanese games?
Language Setting: Japanese
Console Area Setting: Japanese
Game Region Setting: Japanese
Console Video Mode: NTSC (unchanged)
Shop Country Code: 49 (unchanged, because I won't be using the shop)
System Menu Region: Japanese
And choosing to install the System Menu 3.2? Having the main Wii menu, or the entire console in Japanese wouldn't bother me because I can read it.

Hi, first post. I just got the wiisx app to work and the first game downloaded was frogger 3d. The game runs smoothly. The only issue is it loops the music after 30 seconds. Help would be appreciated.

I'm playing MGS and once it says to insert Disc 2 I go to "Current ISO" and select disc 2 than "Resume Game" but nothing happens.

What am I doing wrong???

Hi guys, I recently got into homebrew and have had quite the success getting lots of emulators to succesfully work on my Wii, however 2 of them - PCSX Revolution and JzintvWii both seem to be missing their bios files. I can't get either of them to load anything. Suggestions?Help? Thanks, a newbie

This one emulator seems to be totally broken! Does anyone use it anymore? When I start the emulator, I immediately get a message reading "error can't open directory" and then a list of storage devices appear (SD, USB, Network & DVD).

If I click on the SD Card option a list of the folders appears in the window (all present and correct). However, if I attempt to open any folders to see the contents I'm presented with the device list again instead.

This prevents me loading roms from the normal rom folder so I tried moving the roms to the root of the SD. These will appear in the list but when I try to load them I get a message "Error can't load game".

I have tried re-formatting the sd card using windows and several 3rd part tools. And tried two seperate SD cards to no avail.

I can use:

Snes9xGX (no problems)
Wii64 (no problems)
GenPlus GX (mostly, one issue)

I have a problem with GenPlus on the homebrew Wii.

When I launch GenPlus I can select a ROM play it without problems. However, if I try to load another ROM after one has already been loaded my ROMS folder (under Genplus) appears to be empty. To load another game I must return to homebew loader and re-launch the emulator.

This seems like an obvious bug, however nobody else is talking about it? This being closest desciption to my problem I've found so far:

He had various black screen issues (which I didn't)
He had to re-install genplus to bring his ROMS back, I only have to re-launch

He claims to have fixed it by re-formatting his SD using a panasonic tool. I've tried several format methods & several sd cards, but I can still only load the 1st ROM, after that, they can't be found again until genplus has been fully closed down and re-launched.

I don't expect anyone to be able to fix this, but it would be nice to know I'm not the only one with this issue.

Snes9x SRAMS useless? (no replies)

If anyone has ever played a Wii U virtual console game they know at any point in the game you can save and imedaitly go back to that exact spot. Is it possible to do this with SNES9X? I thought It was with the SRAM screen shots or what not but when I save and exit the game when i come back to load the game it leaves me off not at where I saved using SRAM but where I saved in-game. So for example I've been playing Donkey Kong County and I want to save my game right before a certain jump so I save screenshot was accepted, I fall and when I try to load that screen shot it doesn't work, I'm stuck at the last spot I saved in game (candy kongs save point.)

So my question is there any way to save like you can with the Wii U VC games?

Wii supports over wiivc (at least in bomberman 93, 94 by holding r button on gcn controller). There's a way to allow Snes9xGx supports more than 4 players? Someone tried write code on this? It would be helpful for bomberman and some other games as soccer, footbal, etc.

I've been trying to download files to SD from the net through the wiibrowser and one of two things keeps happening, either nothing happens or it crashes with a code dump.

Anyone got any ideas on how I can resolve this?

VBA GX Won't Save (no replies)

The Save features in VBA GX does not work correctly for me. I'm refering to save files (.sav) and not save states. Whenever a game is opened it creates a new ".sav".

<>I have tried it on other SD cards.
<>I have doubled checked that SD cards aren't in Read Only mode.
<>I have double checked that files & folders on the SD aren't Read Only.
<>I have tried toggleing all combivations of "Auto Save/No" and "Auto Load/No" of "SRAM".
<>Auto Loading and Auto Saving of Save States work fine.
<>Manually creating a Save File and Manually loading a Save File does not work.
<>It seems that the "game_name [Auto].sav" is always newly created when the game is loaded.
<>There are no issues with FCEUltra GX or Snes98 GX.
<>GBA and GBC games .sav are fine.

Example Procedure for Error.
0. Auto Save - SRM; Auto Load - SRM
1. Load game.
2. Save game.
3. Press Home. Select New SRM.
4. Press Home, return to game. Soft reset (A+B+Select+Start). Game is OK.
5. Press Home. Press Home, return to game. Soft reset (A+B+Select+Start). Game is OK.
6. Press Home. Select Main Menu. Load game. Completely new SRM.
7. Press Home. Select SRM from #3. Completely new SRM.

Further testing:

It seems that older GB (brick) games are the ones that don't save. Namely Final Fantasy Legend, Final Fantasy Adventure, and Ultima: Runes of Virtue. Newer GB (brick) games such as LoZ: Link's Awakening (not DX) and Final Fantasy Legend II save fine. *grumble grumble*

Any other things I could try to resovle this issue? Has anyone actually resolved this issue? Thank you.

I have a few classic controller pro's that were manufactured by eastvista that I purchased off amazon. For some reason when I use these controllers on snes9xgx the emulator will sometimes count a hold as multiple button presses. For example on Yoshi Island Yoshi will just stick his tongue out repeatedly when I hold Y. Or when play SMB3 on Super Mario All-Stars instead of running to build up speed to fly Mario will just keep spinning along. And one other thing. Sometimes it will keep on bringing up the home menu repeatedly. Even without touching the home menu button. Also this happens with FCEUGX. And on GenPlus (not sure if it's ported by same guy but might as well put it out) while playing Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic would just run left without any input. I haven't had any of these issues on Wii64 or Not64. So is anyone else having these issues, or did I just purchase cheap controllers?

I've been having a problem with wiimmfi and Animal Crossing. Each time I load the wiimmfi patcher via homebrew with an Animal Crossing (City Folk) disc, it successfully goes through the strap loader but then freezes in the black screen right before the bus loading symbol begins. How do I fix this, or is this supposed to happen? Thanks in advance.

I hope someone out there can help me with a problem I am having with Wii2600.

I have the latest version installed and it loads ok, but it cannot find any games that i have in on my SD card.

If I go to the options menu I see that the screen shots, etcs are all referring to the correct folders on my SD card, but the "games" directory is blank.

Is this supposed to be blank? If not, how do I fix this so wii2600 can find and play my game files?

I'm sorry if this is a really freaking basic question but I'm wracking my brain here. I've had SNES9x-GX working on my old Wii but now the only download link downloads source code only instead of the compiled version, however the readme still talks as if it's the compiled version I'm downloading.

It worked fine before, and I tried the separate Wii channel and it doesn't work. I'd rather have all my emulators in one place anyway (The Homebrew channel). Can anybody help with this?

Hello, I use and 4 Gb Sd Card to install homebrew and bootmii on my wii, then I formatted this same sd card and create a folder named apps, copy homebrew_browser and other apps on this folder, and when i start homebrew channel the apps don't appear. If I copy this folders to a Pen drive the apps appear normaly.
Someone knows what i am doing wrong on my Sd Card? I trying to install a IOS and it not installing from Pen Drive. :dos:

Hello all, this is my first post on these forums so please be gentle hehe.

First things first, I am using a Black Wii that I bought for $99 new. It DOES NOT have the gamecube controller ports.

I recently put the Homebrew channel on my Wii and added alot of emulators. All of them work great but I am having some minor issues with WiiSX. I have everything loaded on my SD card correctly and the emulator boots up but my controller shuts off. I tried turning my controller back on but nothing. I figured it had something to do with the controller because it has the motion plus built it. So I tried an older Wii controller I had from a prior system (without motion plus) and it works fine but when I plug in the classic pro controller into it, the controllers (both classic and wii remote) stop responding. I really would like to use a classic controller to play these psx games.

Is this because you can't use the classic pro controller with a non motion plus controller? If thats the case should I buy a regular classic controller? Or am I wrong completely.

Is there a fix to this so I can use my motion plus controller with classic pro? Like a file I need to add to my wiisx files.

I am fairly new to this whole "hacking/modding" thing so I ask for the simpliest of answer lol.

Hi there. I'm new to these forums, so bear with me if you must.

I was playing a game on vbagx. I saved in-game. I played a little more then saved in-game again. I checked the S-RAM saves on the menu, and it was there. I came back the next day, loaded up my game, and my save file was gone. What went wrong, how do I get my S-RAM save to work on vbagx again (the S-RAM save is still on my SD card in the vbagx saves folder) and what do I do to prevent this in the future? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Its been a while since I sorted through all my homebrew on my sd/usb. I'd like to delete most of the apps off my sd card to avoid sorting through double configuration files. Is there any apps that only work from the sd card? Google has not shown me any existing lists. Someone must have thought of this before me. If such a list does not exist, maybe we could use this thread to start one.

Hi im still new to homebrew and i have a few questions
1- i have already done all the stuff to it with the 2gb sd card and was hoping to ask what i can upgrade to now for a bigger sized one?

2-you know how on the system menu the bubbles with the apps like weather ..mii universe ect ...is if possible to change or delete apps u put on as i bought mine last week and i have something called neogamma and a few others and was wondering can i remove them or move around them or something..

3- is it possible to make my wii load stuff from my usbs instead of the sd card coz of more memory

Hi guys struggling to get rom set 0.134u4 for this emulator, Does anyone know any other rom sets that work with it?

I'm NOT asking for the roms (before the moderators start) just which versions will work with it. It seems a bit of a useless emulator if it only will accept 0.134u4 as you cannot find that rom set anyhere!

anybody else have this problem where the emulator wont load a full game if its over a certain limit of Mb? it Partially loads but not fully. Is there a way to get around this?
