Taiko drum master music files (.nub)?

I've been trying to alter the files within the game Taiko Drum Master. For those of you how have never heard or the game before it is a popular Japanese drum game with games for arcade, PS2, PSP, DS, and the Wii. With a second game being released this month for the Wii, I am trying to alter the last (Change/Add new songs etc.). Wiki the Namco Bandai game if you are interested in learning more.

I so far have altered files storing the information for the Karaoke text in the game (.bin) with success. I have also been able to loosely alter the notes for the songs also in (.bin) files. I am familiar with this type of file so all is good there.

The problem arises with the music/SFX files (.nub)

What is this type of file? I know there are several types of files that game developers choose to store music as, but I can't seem to find out any information about this type of file.

All I need to know is how to convert to and from a file type that I can understand.
