I'm not really sure why you chose to post such a basic question here when the last post is 4 years ago... If you searched around online or even on these forums, in the Getting Started section, you could find your answer fairly quickly.

But anyway, there's a guide here that shows you how to install the Homebrew Channel.

As you can see, these forums have been inactive for a few years and I only come on every once in a while.

Hi all,

I have modded my wii and installed a few emulators. I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on which controllers to use.

I have used the wii stick perfectly with NES games but is there any consensus on which to use with SNES and Genisis emulators?

I would prefer not to spend too much and would prefer them to be wireless.

I have an xbox 360 controller but I imagine this wont be compatible.

Just the day before, I was notified of an update on the HBC (to v1.1.0), and as soon as the download finished, my Wii restarted to HackMii screen and got stuck ever since, no "press 1 to continue" showed up at that point. I tried to boot to BootMii, but it showed nothing at all. All I saw was my Wii's disk slot flashing blue. Here's what happened:

What's happening to my Wii? Dose anyone have a solution to this? Any information would be fine.

Btw, I'm having a 4.1U Wii, going to update if anyone tells me to. I can't access the HBC and BootMii IOS on the Priiloader. All the references are included below.

Have you tried just using the stock "Format Wii System Memory" (or whatever the proper name) button in the Wii Settings? This goes a long way and I believe wipes the Homebrew Channel. Unless you installed anything suspect, that should remove anything that could possibly affect the next user. You might want to put the latest HackMii installer in your apps folder before you do anything else and use it to uninstall BootMii/boot2 or BootMii/IOS first, though.

Hi,I hacked my Nintendo Wii a few years back and am going to sell it and would like to unhack it and then restore it to factory default.
It is not chipped and the Homebrew channel etc is all working fine but I don't have a clue as to how about going about unhacking it.....I can't even remember which hack I used.
Can anyone guide me through the process please?

I do actually think I'd be OK with S-Video. But there's a problem, my CRT don't support that.

So I got an NTSC Wii because of reasons like 60 hz VC games and Project M. And an NTSC Wii doesn't support SCART RGB cable picture meaning you're stuck with composite (or composhit as it's often more accurately called). So with help from AnyRegion Changer I changed the video output to PAL. And while this enables solid RGB picture. It comes at a brutal cost. Which is that every single Virtual Console game goes 50hz and other Wii games stutter and can't keep a still image.

So I need help. Is there a way to get the best of both worlds?

I was trying to run zestig from Segher's Wii.git and I got this error:

The emulator is just buggy. It's not being worked on anymore so there's no way to fix it, unfortunately.

It looks like you are on 3.4U and not 4.3U (two very different versions). Update your Wii and it should work just fine.

It could potentially be possible to add or replace music in the game using something like Riivolution, but it's not as simple as you are suggesting. You would have to reverse engineer how the game plays its music and the create your own music in that format.

I've been using the Homebrew Channel for a while now, and I love the codes it has. I was just wondering, is there any sort of program, hack, or cheat in general that will let me put my own tunes into the game? Like putting notes on sheet music, a piano roll, or any sort of note implementing. (For example: I'd put most of the notes to Megalovania on there, and then another song will pop up in the menu saying "Megalovania", or something)

Please help, people!

I extracted my Animal Crossing City Folk file using SaveGame Manager GX, put it on an SD card and edited it with AC Toolkit. I then deleted the original file on my Wii. I tried to install the file I had edited, but neither Gecko or save-installer would work. The file seems to only be 4 memory blocks instead of 36. Did I make a tragic error? I still have the original file I extracted and it does not work either.?

Thanks, I found that the sensor bar itself wasn't broken so after a bit of troubleshooting I had found that the cable had ever so slightly slipped out of the back of the Wii.

Sounds like the sensor bar isn't working. If you look at it using a mobile phone camera when the wii is on the home screen, it should have lights on at both ends.

homebrew channel is black

My homebrew channel was working fine. It is now black. I also can't go into my snes emulator, nor my nes emulator. I get the same black screen. My CFX loader still works fine, as well as my sega emulator, and my n64 emulator. I am unsure what I did. I think I messed something up while trying to get cfx to work. Now CFX does work but I think I messed something up with my tweaking.

I am new to all of this and only reason I got this far was following step by step guides. I have 4.3 and a black wii. I used the letter bomb to get homebrew channel installed.

I have already tried deleting homebrew and reinstalling but still does work. I figure I messed something up on the internal settings of the wii because why else would it effect my other emulators too.

However, all that internal stuff is hard for me to understand without step by step instructions.

So I recently installed Homebrew and it worked fine, but after a couple weeks I realized that on the Wii homepage I couldn't move the cursor via the remote (or use it anywhere else for that matter). I am able to move it around using my classic controller so that's fine but for games where the Wii remote is necessary, I am unable to play them at normal functionality. I should mention that it is only the motion that doesnt work, all buttons work on the remote.

Things I have already tried:
- Resyncing the remote
- Using a different remote
- Using two remotes simultaneously
- Recalibrating the remote (didn't see the white dots)
- Using new batteries

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Its so annoying that the hbb doesn't update anymore (especially for new homebrew apps), the centralized setup really needs to be simplified to reduce the amount of manual work involved in maintaining it. I was working on an interface to scrape the info directly from the wiki but now the dev community is too small for it to even matter.
