Bricked

I bricked my wii after installing a new ios for the shop channel, I have bootmii/boot2 installed so I can access the homebrew channel and all, so, what is my best bet? should I restore my nand backup? or what? I have 4.2U so would upgrading work?

Re: Bricked

Either the NAND dump really is from another wii, or it was made with Bootmii Beta 3, in which case you will have to modify the NAND dump yourself because of a bug in that revision of Bootmii. However, this is probably more effort than it is worth. Furthermore, the Konami code is only necessary if you have Bootmii installed as IOS, not boot2. If this is the case, restoring the NAND backup is somewhat dangerous.

If you haven't recently installed a custom channel or theme, you may have corrupted message board data. Try to access maintenance mode. If it works, go to the system settings and perform a format. This will fix it.
