Questions about upgrading 3.2u to 4.0u Okay, so I have currently a wii with system update 3.2u and the homebrew channel installed, with other applications installed also. I just bought an 8gb sdhc card, and I'm assuming that the wii won't read it, correct? So if I want the wii to read it, I will need to upgrade to system menu 4.0, but my question is, since I already have the homebrew channel installed, will I loose anything, or will I need to reinstall it, using the bannerbomb exploit. the applications that i have installed are: homebrew channel cIOS36_rev10 menuloader smw-wii dvdx genplus homebrew_browser mplayer playstats Snes9x I'm sorry, so I just want to know is it safe for me to update from 3.2 to 4.0, and still enjoy all my homebrew, and now larger sd cards? No. SDHC support is application dependent. Your system menu and games may not be able to use it, but many homebrew applications can.
The Home Brew Channel can use SDHC cards and launch applications from it.
(note: the most recent version (1.0.2) of the HBC has a bug and can't use SDHC cards.
