DSI error only with nunchuck? (no replies)

The DSI error started all of a sudden Tuesday morning.Everything works fine now with just wii-mote.Add nunchucks at all, and dsi or isi errors come up depending on where you go.Bought and tried a 3rd party nunchuck and still having problems. The only things I could find semi related to my issue were ios problems and 3rd party nunchuck.

Tried without usb stick, and still have the issues.Don't have a 2nd SD card or a 2nd wiimote to rule those out.Any ideas at this point I am 12+ hours into trying to fix it.

This is syscheck log, don't know how close this is to ban territory based on the warnings.Thought someone might know enough to atleast eliminate or narrow down what route to take. Can play without nunchuck but some games awkward to play with.
Updates? (2 replies)

To make a long story short, my brother forced me to uninstall Homebrew off the Wii because he didn't want the console to be compromised even after I told him that it was pretty safe. However, due to another sibling of mine wanting to play the latest version of Pokepark Wii, I had to update it. Homebrew was not enabled at the time, but would the Wii be bricked if I re-installed it? I know that this question was answered in the FAQ; however, the page has not been updated recently and I just wanted to know if updates affected the channel.
If it's nesessary, my Wii dates to about 2007, it is updated to System Menu 4.3, and Letterbomb worked perfectly the first time. Thanks in advance!

Then my Wii freezes and I have to unplug it. I have ensured the file is in the root, (if that means not in any folder) and it still won't load. I am using an 8 GB micro with adaptor on a Wii from 2009, version 4.3 with the LetterBomb hack. If the micro and adaptor loads the letter on the message board, shouldn't it load the Boot.elf or Boot.dol?

BootMii as boot2 (4 replies)

Hey everyone I looked through the FAQ and forums and didn't see any threads that answered by exact question. I am a complete newb when it comes to this so I apologize if this has been answered a bunch. Just used letterbomb and installed the HBC and chose BootMii as boot2. Everything went great. Now I am wondering what I can and should delete from my SD card? I now have folders that say "boot.elf", "bootmii", "installer.log" and "private". Just wanted to make sure deleting something wouldn't effect boot2. I don't really understand what that means but chose it because it was recommended. I plan to use this same SD to install my homebrew apps and ROMs. Thanks

I want to be able to search the memory or make a forensic copy of the file system.
Snes9x help (3 replies)

Okay. So...

I have Snes9x downloaded and installed on my homebrew channel. I also have games on there that run properly ( mostly at least ). However my problem lies within actually saving the data. I tried first on my Earthbound file, and found that I have to start a new game again, luckily I hadn't gotten too far. Then I checked Crono Trigger, just in case something messed up with Earthbound. I checked to see if the directory to where it was being saved was right, but I'm not entirely sure how to accurately do so. I'm not even entirely emulation savvy. I appreciate any help from anyone who might be able to point me in the right direction of how to save my SNES games. Thank you very much!

Something Weird Happened (Two Stupid Questions) (3 replies)

Hey everybody. I apologize if this is in the wrong place, but I really had no idea as to where to place this.

This isn't really anything regarding me needing help installing the Homebrew Channel, but rather a strange expirence I had that I don't understand.

Recently, my launch date Nintendo Wii has been giving me some issues reading Brawl (occasinally, it will have trouble loading the disc and can't read it, and Gecko would sometimes take 3 or 4 tries to get it to read Brawl), so I decided to go outand buy a cheap used one at Gamestop to see if I could find a slightly later model that doesn't have issues with dual-layered discs. The Wii I received seemed to be some type of model made around in 2010, as the when I was setting it up, 2010 was the default year in the date.

The thing is, I went through setting it up, checked it's Firmware, which I thought said 4.3, went ahead and played with Brawl a little, then decided to install the Homebrew Channel.

After installing it, everything went fine, but today I tried to play New Super Mario Bros. Wii. I placed the disc in, and I noticed instead of the usual disc channel, it was telling me about a Wii system update. I was confused by this and decided to check to see if I was correct about it running 4.3, and I was. Curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to install the update anyway, since I really had no idea if would do anything if I already had the latest firmware.

Strangely, the update was successful, and the Homebrew Channel was still on my Wii. What confuses me is that I thought the Wii updates attempt to remove or block the Homebrew Channel if it dectects it, but here, it was still there and I could launch it with what appears to be no issues. New Super Mario Bros. Wii worked as well, too.

Could somebody explain to me why my new (to me, anyway) Wii ran the 4.3 update, when it was already up to date, and does this have the possibility to affect anything? Also, is there another way to check if my Wii is a slightly later model? I purposely looked for one of the Gamecube compatibile ones and that's what I got, and it is a bit different from my launch date one, such as the LED light turning to red if I power it down instead of the yellow I'm familiar with, and it does also sound a lot better when trying to read Brawl, too (AND the music doesn't suddenly stop playing in the menus before resuming) but I would like to be safe. I had read that you could check the serial number, but are there other ways? I would greatly aprreciate a reply.

Homebrew Installed BootMii Not - MotionPlus (no replies)

Hi, just a few questions. Very new to Wii. Installed Homebrew Channel correctly. (It shows on Wii Menu 4.3). I used Letterbomb with the correct Mac address. To my dismay as I have seen in some forums, the controller I used is a MotionPlus controller. I have another of these and a regular Wii controller.

I was hesitant to install Bootmii for fear of not being able to revert to the original settings (Is there anything out there for this?)
When I loaded the Homebrew Browser (that I extracted to a new folder I created called "apps") from the Channel. It then failed after some dialogue screen that was "Extracting the image files". I now cannot use either of the MotionPlus controllers or the regular controller to bypass the Health/Safety warning and no cursor shows on the Wii 4.3 Menu.

Is there a way I can install Bootmii? Is this what I would need to do? Presently unable to use any of the 3 controllers I have. Desperate for a fix. Pardon the play on words. Please help?!

Playing roms off DVD? (no replies)

My Wii is several years old and on 4.3u. I just installed Homebrew to play some SNES games. Because of space issues with my SD card I wanted to burn a DVD. I downloaded Snes9xgx and a few roms, put those in the roms folder and burned a DVD+ with the IS09660 + Joliet settings. I also set up the /apps folder on the disc. I assumed when I put the disc in the Wii and opened Homebrew something would happen...but nothing happens. Am I just trying to use Homebrew incorrectly? Is the best solution to just get a larger SD card? Thanks for any help!

Edit: In case it helps, I installed Homebrew using Letterbomb.

Edit 2: I solved the problem by simply getting a larger SD card.

Homebrew not working with the Interworks Pro U Controller (3 replies)

I really like this third party controller. It is a wireless controller shaped after the Wii U Pro that functions as a Classic Controller with a built in motion sensor and rumble for Wiimote functionality.

Now on the back of the controller there are a couple of switches. One switch changes the controller from CC Mode to Wiimote Mode. This works flawlessly for all official software, but for some reason, NO homebrew application will work in Classic Controller mode.

Is there any reason for this? Does anybody else posses this controller?

Or am I just forced to use a normal CC for my homebrew?
Thanks in advance.

I want to get the Homebrew Channel on the home screen.
BootMii crashes Dolphin, so does any CustomizeMii homebrew loader (basically all of them)
SmashStack doesn't work.
LetterBomb doesn't work because of my MAC. I also installed the forwarding channel for Wiiflow, for EmuFlow, it needs to install a hidden channel to go back into WiiFlow everytime you try to get out of the emulator you are in. I can't install that channel on the vWii, so I was wondering if there was a way to redirect the emulators to my WiiFlow Forwarding Channel?

Thanks in Advance
