Reinstalling nand.bin keys.bin (no replies)

I guess first off my wii is version 5.3.2 U and I recently installed HBC everything was running great and then I messed everthing up. My wii u is complety fine but when I try to reinstall HBC using smash stack it just gets stuck and the option to press the number 1 never comes up and the screen is frozen. I do have a nand.bin and keys.bin back up so how would I go about reinstalling these to get my wii u back up and running with the HBC back on it now without the HBC not being there

[RESOLVED]
This caused me hours of frustration, so I wanted to post it anyway in case someone else had the problem.
Both IOS and boot2 methods work fine now!!!
I had a bad/stuck button on my Game Cube Controller that was causing it to immediately "click" the Wii menu and boot normally!
So ridiculous. Now I can laugh and enjoy. Hope this helps someone else!

I apologize if this issue and been posted (and resolved...?)
I'm fairly new to this, but not new to hacking things up... thanks for your help in advance!

I can't seem to run bootMii, not matter what I try (boot2 or IOS).

Details:
Wii: Old Wii (2007?) that I purchased new
Able to install to boot2: YES
Version: 4.3U
HackMii installer v1.2
Initial HBC & Hackmii Install method: Letterbomb

Note, I have attempted installing and uninstalling various times with multiple SD cards and from the hackmii_instaler_v1.2. app as well as the letterbomb.

Any way I attempt to install the BootMii, I can't seem to access it. I have used different SD cards. I have ensured the default values are in the bootmii.ini. It always says it installs successfully. I have tried formatting the cards and starting over as well. I've tried it on the same SD card as letterbomb/hackmii installer and on SD separate cards.

boot2:
When using boot2, I simply can't access the menu. When I power-on, it comes up with the "Press A" screen and then Wii Menu.
I noticed in some youtube tutorials that after using letterbomb it can come up to the boot2 menu directly after exiting. Mine does not; it goes to the Home Brew Channel.

IOS:
Also says successful. If I try to access BootMii through the [Home] button on the Home Brew Channel, it resets the Wii -- it BRIEFLY shows the BootMii menu -- but immediately boots up to the "Press A" screen and then the normal Wii Menu.

Hey everyone :p, so my friend was really great to me and he hacked my wii, got 20xx all set up, and bootmii installed. However dumb me wanted to also get the hackless version of PM on that sd card as well so I could play PM on one wii without have to switch over to my other SD card to play PM. So long story short I tried to install riivolution through one of the apps in the homebrew chanel that mike told me not to touch, but ending up messing around in there because I dont listen well :p and now bootmii doesnt start up at the home screen, but if I go into homebrew chanel I can press start and then go into bootmii. Yes I have turned off the console when in bootmii and in homebrew and neither make it start from bootmi when i turned it back on :'( . I know this is prob just going to annoy some of you, so im sorry in advance for my post about a small request thats worded rather fluffy ^-^

Anyyyywayy the request, how can I get bootmii to start up again when i turns on my wii so I dont need the sensor cable no more?

Hey All:
It has been a while since I used my Wii, so I wanted to make sure I am running the most current version.
My question is, will it not show up in the HBC if I am already running the latest version?
Because I move my boot.elf and bootmini.elf to my SD Card, and HBC does not recognize it.
Is there a way to check which bootmii I am running?

I have BootMii installed, and it displays on boot. I can boot into the Wii System menu, but if I select HBC the video blinks, and then there is no video output from the Wii at all. HBC is installed, and runs from the Wii System menu. What have I done wrong, and how can I fix it? Thanks in advance.

I have 2 SD Cards and 1 of them has bootmii + my backup files and the other one has my Wii mods on it. Do I have you have Bootmii on the same SD Card as the one with mods or can I just have it on one?

Hello guys, I'm new to this forum, but I'm not exactly an amateur when it comes to general hacking (or grammar XD). Anyways, I would like to know where I can download the actual installer, as I already have Smash Stack prepared, and everytime I try downloading the file, I get a picture of a kitten looking down through a hole in the roof... Yeah, I know it sounds weird, but could anyone please link me to a LEGAL mirror (I don't want anything unlawfully redistributed...)? Thanks guys! >_<.

Power / Reset navigation not working for BootMii (1 reply)

I am currently using Letterbomb to load into the latest (1.2 as of what I see now) BootMii installer. I get the anti-scam message and then load into the screen showing that Homebrew and BootMii can be installed and that I should select continue. The problem is that neither the power nor reset buttons actually do anything, and I do not have a GC controller, so trying that is not really an option.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Subj. I did not found answer in wiki.

I need to boot Easy Linux right after Wii start.

Now i need to
1) Press A to go to Menu
2) Select Homebrew channel
3) Press Home
4) Select BootMii (will load linux by default, replaced ppcboot.elf)

SysChecker shows my sysmenu is unknown (wii was bought in 2010, looks like 4.2, homebrew was installed by Bathaxx)

Homebrew channel now is 1.1.2

Hi im new to this scene and i have installed hack mii through the below link

Everything was running smooth and home brew was up and running. i backed up files keys and nand and stored on my computer. I then followed another tutorial and formatted the SD card. I have since tried to get into Boot Mii and the screen goes black and The disk light flashes.
I have tried to re install the above but it wont allow it.
Any suggestions would be great thanks

not sure if this is the right section for this but I'm getting the "the installed boot1 prevents boot2" error. my wii was made in 2006 so it's plenty old enough and therefore I have no idea why I'm getting this error. anything I can do?

Hi all. As I said in the subject, the newest version of the Hackmii installer is not letting me install BootMii on boot2 on my new Wii, even though the newest installer claims it can. I need to backup this Wii's NAND before I transfer my junk to the Wii U.

I'm a latecomer to Wii homebrew stuff. I have succeeded in getting HBC on my Wii but it tells me that BootMii cannot be installed. It says "the installed boot1 version prevents a boot2 install". Unlike most issues I've found with searching, it tells me I cannot install it as IOS either.

I can prepare an SD card to recieve BootMii from the installer, but I have no option to run BootMii from the HBC, through hitting the Home button or otherwise. Is the BootMii folder supposed to go in Apps? Is it possibly an issue with my SD Card (even though I got HBC to run with this same card)? I got my Wii back from repairs recently and even though I had a launch date Wii, I think they just gave me a new one and shoved my Wii Shop info onto a new one judging by the serial number being lu70~? It's also fully updated to 4.3U.

I'd really like to use BootMii, so any help would be appreciated.

I (accidentally) started up a NAND backup in BootMii, but it's been stuck on the same block for a few hours now, so I assume it froze for some reason. Is it safe for me to power off my Wii? It looks like there's a image that warns not to power off the system, so I'm not sure what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Dear Coders...

I have a question.

I have a 2007 Wii with 4.3U System Menu, and the Wii is NOT Softmodded. The Homebrew Channel is installed along with boot2 BootMii. But, whenever I try to load BootMii at startup, it brings me to the "Press A To Continue" screen. I verified that I had all the files needed, but it still refuses to work.

I am not sure what I did wrong, if I did anything wrong. Mabye because there is a boot.elf file always on my SD for Letterbomb that cancels out the ppcboot.elf? Or do I need to edit the the config?

Correct me if I'm in the incorrect section, please.

I installed homebrew on my Wii today and after some time with it I realized that I really don't need it. My Wii 4.3U is one of the newer ones that can't install using Boot2 thus I had to use IOS. Is there any way to restore my NAND using an IOS backup using BootMii? Or is there any indication if there ever will be?

If I have an SD card in the Wii and BootMii is running from it, is it okay to take the SD out when it is running? What happens if you do that? I would like to know for future reference, in case I want to make a backup but have to use a separate card.

I updated to this latest version of HBC and bootmii, but now, every time that I turn on the wii, it boots from bootmii instead of the system menu, so what is going on??. I installed it on boot2, I have the 4.1U firmware version, I have priiloader installed, on the bootmii.ini file I have autoboot=sysmenu, I have on the priiloader>system hacks>autoboot=sysmenu. The problem is only solved when I uninstall bootmii, anybody have a better solution?? I tried everything I could think off but uninstalling is the only way for me to boot directly to system menu, but if possible I would like to have bootmii installed just for security, in case I need to restore my NAND.

I have installed Bootmii and will boot but I have no remote to navigate. The lights on the remote blinks like its trying to connect to the wii but wont. I can power it up via the remote and it also connects when the sd card isnt in. If I do not try to boot into BootMii then everything works fine! Can anyone help please?

Now i have problem when I try using bootmii, I can't navigate anyway on menu. Controller doesn't work but that's how it supposed to be, right? When I press power or reset button on console, Wii just turns off. I can't use gamecube controller either because I have Super Mario Kart bundle Wii without gc controller ports. Help me!

I have just installed HBC on a 4.3E, using LetterBomb. Everything seems to be working OK, and I wonder whether I should bother to install BootMii; as expected, I confirmed it cannot install it as boot2, and do not plan to do "dangerous stuff" with my console.

Hi, quick question for you all:

Do the contents of the 'bootmii' folder at the root of the SD Card change when you make NAND backups? I've been keeping the 'bootmii' folder, keys.bin and nand.bin backed-up in versions on my computer, and I back up my NAND before and after I make changes to my Wii, such as installing new homebrew or utilities. I made my first NAND backup immediately after I installed HBC and BootMii/boot2, and I copied the folder and the two .bin files to my computer, but I have since lost/misplaced the 'bootmii' folder for my first backup. Can I take the 'bootmii' folder for any other backup I've made and use that instead? In other words, does the 'bootmii' folder not change and thus is interchangeable between backups?

Hopefully I'm clear enough and that this question hasn't been asked before: I search this section of the forum and didn't find anything relevant. Thank you!

Hello,

I just installed Bootmii as an IOS (no choice) on a PAL 2010 Wii (System menu 4.3). I don't have a GC controller, and the console buttons have not been hijacked by Bootmii. Reset and Power still reset and turn off the console, and Eject ejects disks.

I've seen that a similar issue existed in 2009 and had been patched. see bug 72 and bug 95. Regression?

Is there something I can do, short of buying a GC controller?

Hello, everyone. I just recently bought a Wii off of my friend because the disk drive stopped working in the one I already have. I was planning on moving my save data and channel stuff by using bootmii. I made the backup just fine and "converted it" using punetwiin. I can restore it to my new Wii just fine, but when I leave the Shop Channel (which doesn't work) or the Internet Channel, or when I try to go to the Nintendo Channel, it freezes, and when I turn on the Wii, the screen doesn't come up on my tv, unless I use my SD card to activate Bootmii. I also have to reinstall the Homebrew Channel, because it doesn't work after the restore. Any idea why it does this and any way to fix it?

Could there could be a way to use someone's bootmii folder to use bootmii without the hackmii installer.
Because when I use the hackmii installer to install bootmii it does not work even when i turn the wii off,
the bootmii folder is not in the sd card.If it is possible can i have a download link of a bootmii folder for
4.3e,if there is a separate folder for each version and religion if there is not then can i have the bootmii folder from any wii.

After I install the Homebrew channel on hackmii installer,when I install Bootmii as boot2:
Mounting SD card...
Creating directory /bootmii...
hackmii installer stops after this.Should I turn off the wii?I used the letterbomb exploit on a 4.3E wii to use the hackmii installer.
edit:I turned the wii off so I dont need help anymore.

Hello my name is shaggy.
Yestarday I start to hack my wii 4.3E with {Removed} SSBB
Everything went fine until the part that was saying homebrewchannel can be installed and bootmii can be installed.
On my wii appears homebrew can be installed
but for the bootmii shows this message on purple, bootmii can only be installed as an ios. And below that is saying the installed boot1 version prevents a boot2 install (-2).
What should I do?
