slowdown on devkitPPC r18

I'm noticing that code compiled on r18 is running very slow. Complex math and image processing that was taking seconds now takes minutes.

I'm basically posting this thread to find out if anyone else is seeing the same problems or maybe knows what the issue maybe.

i noticed a decrease in compile speed when i went from r16 to r17... haven't made the jump to 18 yet (based on all the difficulties i had going from 16 to 17)
