Best choice to download files

Hi,

i need to download large files over the network. I read the stream by 100 bytes. It's very slow.
So i can increase the block size but that means i will also increse my temp buffer.
Do you have an idea about the good ratio?

If you increase the block size you increase the chance to have a bad block (loss of data).

Ok for the memory map.

I'm ok for the bad blocks. But in fact, what are you're experiences? Do you generally use blocks of 1024 or higher?
