i want to make an extention cord cause i think the ones in stores are over priced or charge bs for shipping.

does anyone know a good gauge for the copper to make the cable?

Go all out, use zero gage wire..

If you are making one for a controller with rumble then you probably should you 16 gauge, otherwise 18 gauge or even telephone sized wire would be good.
