Game and system menu help!!!

I recently used the twilight hack and downgraded my wii to system menu 2.2U, but i now realize that you need to update in order to play certain games. so i need to know how i go about updating with out bricking my wii and which system menu is the best to downgrade to, Please help and thanks in advance.

I'm quite sure that you can only really brick your console from updates from other regions. Starfall and Preloader both have hacks to stop disc updates, but Starfall only works in 3.2 and Preloader has a brick risk. You can also run the disc from Gecko OS as a workaround.
