When Nintendo releases the wii motion plus, do you think that an update will be forced to use it, or by games which use it?

Most likely, it wont be anything more than a harmless IOS update.

IOS doesn't know anything about controllers (or Bluetooth) -- that's handled by each individual application (by code in the SDK). (You'd think they would have handled that sort of thing inside IOS ... oh well, maybe next console.)

Bushing, aren't there IOSs for WiiSpeak and USB Keyboard support though? Or maybe those aren't technically considered controllers. (And BTW, thanks for the clarification :) )

The Powerpc part handles bluetooth (WiiMotes) and GC controllers.
USB goes through the IOS.

Thanks Daniel! One question though, so does WiiSpeak connect to the Wii via a USB port then? (I'm asking because I dont own one, nor have I ever had any real interest in the thing until now)

A first-party pass-through unit which connects to the remote; its function is to enhance the motion-tracking accuracy of the remote. Release is meant to be sometime this year, I think.

In June: Standalone, with Wii Sports Resort and with an EA sports game

Its basically just a small additional peripheral that adds an additional reference point by plugging into the back of the wii remote.
