Bushing has publicly released the software he has created and been using to convert a backup copy of one Wii's NAND to work in a different Wii under the name "Betwiin"

Kudos to bushing, for his work and talent.

But I feel like DanielH.

Honestly, I fail to see what GBATemp could even do to "improve" it.

Honest questions (I've never used GBATemp)

What's everyone got against GBATemp? Do they rip us off?

Read this: [gbafail.net]

It's looked at as a joke in terms of sites that cover Wii Homebrew. It's also heavily piracy ridden and it's users spam Tehskeen regularly.

The problem I see is, that soon the pirates will start distributing prepared images

Good for bricks i guess.... I mean if you havent made a back up or are using preloader only this is great, but i see the piracy possibility.

5. When Dip-IOS, 10 lines of bricking code, is regarded as amazing.

I felt stupid after this one XD I used Dip(or Dop)-IOS when it hitted the wiki to install the Shop Channel IOSes and it worked really fine...

Everything is possible. Wait for a GUI, at least... (Althought, to be honest, a GUI isn't much of a bad thing..)

AFAIK Dip-IOS and Dop-IOS are 2 different things.

It would be illegal in itself to distribute a NAND image, wouldn't it? And I am pretty sure that GBATemp doesn't allow links to copyrighted code.

"Dip-IOS" in that context refers to the DIP module code used to patch IOS to read DVD-Rs (i.e for backup/warez loading purposes). "Dip-IOS", the program, means "Download, Install, Patch IOS" - its name was supposedly changed to "Dop-IOS" to prevent confusion, which has obviously not been successfully achieved.

Dip-IOS and dop-IOS are indeed the same thing. It was originally called dip-IOS, but was changed because that caused confusion about the dip-module, whatever that is (think its used for piracy). And this is what GBAFail.net is talking about when it says dip-IOS is 10 lines of bricking code. That should now be dop-IOS, but obviously it hasn't been changed.

No, SifJar. Dip-IOS is this:

Dip-IOS is a module inside an IOS (used for warez).
Dop-IOS is a program that installs IOSs.

In short; They are not the same thing.

I know. But dip-IOS was the original name for dop-IOS, which caused a lot of confusion because of the dip-IOS module in an IOS. But the dip-IOS mentioned on that GBAFail.net spoof site thing is actually dop-IOS, which at the time was known as dip-IOS, and was 10 lines of code wrapped around tona's shop and IOS 51 installer, and it bricked people. Hence, ten lines of bricking code.

The only thing I know is Dop-IOS didn't brick my Wii =D

EDIT: back to the topic... Any good, adventurous soul will test this? =P

Yeah, I think dop-IOS has been improved a bit now.

But as you say, back on topic: I hope I never have need to try it out.

they are completely different things. Dip-IOS will brick your wii and Dop-IOS will download any IOS on the NUS and patch it if you so choose. This is helpful because if you screw up the IOS that the system menu uses you can reinstall it with this. (given you have preloader or bootmii boot2)
