No, I knew about it. I thought I should share the knowledge. To quote mommy:

How did nintendo let them do this? Its a disgrace to their company! All of the copy's should be burned!! lol

When sony failed to deliver them a CD-based addon for the SNES (stupid, stupid move Nintendo), they signed a contract with Phillips, one of the stipulations was that Phillips was allowed to make their own games, and they could use Nintendo characters, so when Nintendo also turned down Phillips' CD-based addon (Sony's turned into the Playstation, and the Phillips one, the Phillips CD-I. Also, iirc there were/are working prototypes of the Playstation for the SNES floating around), Phillips was still allowed to use Nintendo characters and well... The CD-I wasn't a good console to begin with, combine that with bad devs and that's what happens.

whats FIDOnet?

FIDONet was a method of communication between BBS systems. Before the internet was around as you know it, there were Bulletin Board Systems or BBS, and my brother had his own (A fairly popular one too), Now the way the BBS would work is your computer would dial a phone number, and interpret what the phone on the other line is "saying" and it would bring up a page. Most BBS systems were more or less just primitive forums. FIDONet was just one of the methods of connecting them, like Usenet (except FIDONet didn't suck).

I picked up a CD-i because of the zelda games and because they advertised that it would play all SNES CD games. Well we all know what happened to that....
