I'm quite interested in all of the above, seems to be a sort of burst of action in the Wii "scene" recently.

I am too! Didn't know Riivolution exsisted until now though, but I find it very interesting now, however!

I only really found out about it today. I knew there was a method being developed for loading NSMB levels off SD card, which would also be used in the next RawkSD, and I had guessed it was using a custom IOS because of some hints dropped a while ago, but I was not certain of all details.

There's another method for loading NSMB levels too. You can (or will be able to, I don't know if they've gotten it to work yet) insert level files in the NSMB save and then load them by a gecko code, but Riivolution seems more smooth.

Where did you see this? I have been following custom NSMB levels a bit, and have not see this anywhere...

Tanooki v. 1.2 readme
Features:
-Select number of lives
-Select number of coins
-Select current equipment
-Change score
-Change start world
-Select number of items
-Complete every level with all Star coins
-Unlock all hint videos
-Change region of save
-Inject and use custom stages from save file

Usage:

BASIC USAGE
-Extract your gamesave using Savegame Manager or a similar homebrew application.
-Open your gamesave (wiimj2d.sav) with Tanooki and enjoy!
-Remember to hit Update after making any changes, and File>Save when finished.

STAGE-TO-SAVE USAGE
-Select the level you'd like to replace from the dropdown menu.
-Use the '..' button to browse for the replacement .ARC level file.
-Select the 'Add' button to inject the level into the save.
-Copy down the Ocarina code that is generated, or use the 'Create GCT' button.
*This code is necessary to run the injected levels*
-The game may freeze the first time trying an injected save. Try again.
-To remove all levels from your save, use the 'Clean' button.
-When importing a clean save after using an injected save, the game will give a
corrupt save message. This is due to a problem with savegame Manager.
-Simply allow the game to create a fresh save (fixing the problem), then import
your clean save again.

It seems they've gotten it to work now!

Why isn't there a CPS2/CPS1 and Neo Geo emulator, that's one thing that gets me, or a youtube player like the PSP had? Like the others said, I don't mean any offense with my question, but it leads me to believe the PSP is more powerful than the wii if it can't handle these games. I am surprised there is no Sega CD and/or 32X support for the Genesis emulator either. It would be a great benefit if there was support for Sega CD/32X but no one else seems to think so.

I'm pretty sure there is a Neo Geo emulator, and the reason there's no YouTube player is probably because the Internet browser can play YouTube videos already.

And there's even a specialised interface by YouTube designed for the Wii, at [www.youtube.com]

Seeing as Internet Channel is free, and the YouTube XL interface is pretty good, there is no reason for a homebrew YouTube player. Although I think MPlayer CE can do it anyway.

There's also MAME which can (but possibly may be unable to on the Wii) emulate CPS1/2 and Neo Geo games.

There is a neogeo emulator for wii, but it is complete trash. The dev for it obviously doesn't care about it, but it would be great if someone else could finish the job.....even though it wouldn't matter to me because i have.... *cough crap cough*

This is an old topic and I think it's original purpose has been long since invalidated.
