Question about Error:003

I know it's what happens when Korean Wii's are region-changed and updated to 4.2, but will the error occur for any region-changed Wii or just Korean ones?
For example, if I got a black Wii and converted it to 4.2U, would it give the error? I'm planning to get a black Wii eventually and this would be good to know. I know how to get around the error, but I was just curious.

I think its just Korean wiis.

Yeah, I'm leaning more towards just Korean Wii's because I think SifJar or someone said it had to do with the Korean common key, but I could've sworn I read somewhere about a Japanese to US brick.

It only affects region-changed Korean Wiis, yes.

Yeah, it checks for Korean common key in EEPROM, and if its there, displays the Error 003 message.

If you know how to get around error:003, then I really need your help. Could you please kindly show me how to get around the error?? I got 003 error and don't know what to do...please help.

Getting around the error needs you to do a workaround BEFORE getting the error. When you have it, there's not much you can do. Unless you have a modchip and trucha bug.
