I was bored on the internet and ran into this c code:

Most people would look at this and think error, but it actually runs and the output is cool. I'll post the output too:

I was wondering if anybody knows how this works. You don't have to know the entirty of how it works, but if you know snipits that would be great?

Is this from that competition where they try to create the ugliest code in existence?

The IOCCC? Probably.

EDIT: main calls itself a lot, but that's all I can see.
