bad blocks

i had a lot of bad blocks, am i screwed? what can i do about them? whats causing them? just curious..

Nope, they don't matter in the slightest. Every flash memory chip has bad blocks, the manufacturers put some extra blocks in there to make up for it, because it would be much more expensive to make sure there weren't any.
