Do SDHC cards really work?

I am getting a lot of conflicting info. when I do a search for this on google. I may be reading older guides, I'm not sure, but most say to use a 2GB card or less. I tried looking at the compatibility list, but it looks like more cards don't work than the ones that do work. I want to use a 4GB card, but don't know if it will work with this size of card.

I want to purchase this one: PNY 4GB SDHC Card

Will it work with HBC and it's accompanying apps(usb loader, emulators, etc.)?
