HELP ME

i am still all new to this so hope i don’t make a fool of myself
I put homebrew on my wii and it rocks but when I put it on my friends it would not work because his ver of wii is 2.1E and home brew says it’s to old and i have to update it 1st but wont the update block me from using homebrew???? Thanks

This doesn't really belong in the IOS board, but no. There are homebrew installs for all newer updates. Although it's probably recommended updating from a disc with v3.2 on (Think Mario Kart, Mario Galaxy, and SSBB)
