FCE SMB support in Linux NAS
May 31, 2009 03:17PM
Hello. First of all - great app, when loading/saving from/to an SD card. I am trying to use FCE 3.0.4 - loading the files from SMB share (should work - again - following the release notes).

In the network settings I have entered all required fields, also in "Saving & Loading options" the folders should be ok.
The error I get is "Error opening smb://myfoldernamefromoptions". Ofc I am able to access the share with smb from linux, and also without problems wrom my windows PC.

1. Have tried setting up a test share from my windows PC - works without any issues...
2. I have also read previous messages in this forum of linux/smb subject, my NAS is working on 445 as it should.
3. When connecting to smb shares, most of the time it also asks for domain. Usually the IP address can be used as the domain. Just mentioning because didn't see any option for domain or "\" character in username field for network settings.

Domain is not necessary, it will mimic the domain of the SMB share.
