FCE Ultra GX Wii 4 player troubles

Hi

I'm having troubles with the multi-player option in FCE Ultra GX while playing Nekketsu Kakutou Densetsu.
I set the controller to "NES Controller (4)" but when I start a four player game, players 3 and 4 are not being recognized.
I'm also using Gamecube controllers.

How many gamecube controllers? They need to be plugged into the ports not being used by wiimotes - eg:

if you have 2 wiimotes and 2 gamecube controllers, plug the gamecube controllers into ports 3 and 4.

I'm using 4 gamecube controllers.
3 and 4 are still not being recognized.

Have you set the option "4 controllers"?

I can't precicely remember where it is, but if you look around, you'll find it.

Here is some additional information that may or may not be needed:
Wii system menu: ver. 4.0
Homebrew channel: 1.0.6
FCE Ultra GX: 3.1.0

I have not installed anything else.

Woops, I missed to read that you'd switched it on in your first post.

It could be the ROM that's bad. Can you make it work with any other 4-player NES game? and you could try getting another ROM or try it with FCEU for the PC and see if it works with it.

I've tried both Nintendo World Cup and its Japanese counterpart, Nekketsu Koko Dodgeball Bu Soccer Hen in FCEU GX,

Nintendo World Cup works and Nekketsu Koko Dodgeball Bu: Soccer Hen does not.
These games do work on the PC FCEU though.

So I guess the 4 player option in FCEU GX is not compatible with famicom games.
That is kinda disappointing.
