wiisx (PS1 EMULATOR)

alright ill look for it. should be pretty easy to find i guess. and when u say that they come in multiple .rar files, do u mean that the games come in different pieces?

Yup. Like to download, say, Barbie Adventures, you might have to download 10 different archives (.rars) and then extract them all together. (Which can be done by just extracting one of them as long as they are all in the same folder)

Because the Wii has a read-only DVD drive and PS1 games are on CDs. In other words, the Wii's Disc drive is incapable of reading CDs.

I had never heard that before, huh I had always thought a DVD drive could always read CDs, ok, well thanks for the info

They have to be built specifically to do that.

has anyone figured out if there are custom control settings? i need to be able to use the select button but dont know how

edit: nevermind. for anyone wondering, hold z and press start, L, and R for select L2 and R2 respectively

Testing WiiSX and PCSX-Revolution
Both versions retrieved from their SVNs, compiled with latests libogc and libfat from SourceForge SVN

Crash Bandicoot 2:
With old WiiSX: Code dump.
With PCSX-Rev: Another code dump. Meh, first fail...
With new WiiSX: AWESOME
The game is running incredibly well, sometimes is running even faster than 60 FPS, sound is great, no graphical bugs, and saving the game didn't freeze the emulator! WOO-HOO!

Ace Combat:
With old WiiSX: Runs great, but slow
With PCSX-Rev: COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODE DUMP!
With new WiiSX: Shows the logo, the loading screen and the main me... wait, CODE DUMP!

I will test Soul Reaver later, when I get home.

okay so how does this work couse i am confused.
so do i download the new beta version?
i understand what todo with the game iso's...
but i dont understand where i put them?
and can i have more than one game on there at one time?

heres what i have on my sd card.
i have the psx-beta1.dol in my apps folder
and i have my psxiosfolder on the root of my sd card.
so what do i do to get a .bin ps1 game?
i dont know what the next step is.?

u have to search for them. its illegal to share them as arikado pointed out. make sure to get that bios file too

and do i need 3 seperate folders in the ios's file?
or do i have all the nessisary files?

it came with these files.
file- ccd
file- cue
file- img
what do i do with these files and where do i put them?

Rename the file to boot.dol

BIOS are like IOS, but for PSX. Google for the SCPH1001.BIN one and put it in the PSXISOS folder.

Probably this files will not work. Check the link: [club.cdfreaks.com]

To be accurate, it will depend on if the emulator supports the .img format. some do, some don't.

I can confirm that .img files work.

Star Ocean 2 is full speed...

Also, is there a reason why the Wiisx Beta has not been added to the wiki? I guess I could do it, but I don't want to risk the ignominy of having it removed.

AFAIK, since it is a public, official release, there's no reason to not add it to the wiki.

I was referring specifically to the front page. Updates for non Wiibrew-based applications are posted there all the time.

The bits of less reliable news which get axed always amuse me (Galaxii Overflow, anyone?).

Incidentally, try playing Tales of Destiny II and surviving the overclocked battles.

um i tried that link someone posted downloaded the thing..
and it doesnt work..
am i supposed to extract the .img or open it?
when i opened it it said the file is broken?!
i cant figure out how to use this emulator and the fact that there are tules about emulation/roms makes the users even more confused!?
can someone help me please.
