noobish question, but what's on the lower right corner on the homebrew channel?

what's on the lower right corner on the homebrew channel?
it looks like a gecko and something else, occasionally one or the other flashes, what does that mean?

the gecko icon is for if you have an sd gecko adaptor plugged in and the other one is the wifi icon :)

but i don't have a sd gecko adapter, nor do i have wifi, so why do they flash?

The network connection icon will flash as it tries to connect to the network and get an IP. It should work with both Wifi and Wired connections
