WiiVNC

So I'm trying to get WiiVNC to work. I've downloaded the app and I've downloaded TightVNC and tried to set up everything, but when I go to "connect" it just says "connecting" and stays there forever. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I'm not familiar with VNCs and how they work so it's probably something obvious that I'm just ignorant about.

I've looked for general guides and can't seem to find a "WiiVNC for Dummies" so to speak. If somebody could help me out I'd appreciate it.

Sorry if these answers are obvious. Also assuming you're on Windows here.

1. Check your firewall is not blocking TightVNC (port 5900) and you're running TightVNC server, right ? On Windows Start > Programs > TightVNC > Launch TightVNC Server.

2. Check you IP on windows, Start > Run - type cmd, in the commnd prompt type ipconfig, mke sure the IPv4 address is what you're connecting to in WiiVNC.

That worked... I got it up and running. Sorry for the delayed response. Thanks for your help.

Hi There, I still couldn't figure out to make this work :c. When you said:"Make sure the IPv4 address is what you're connecting to in WiiVNC."I didn't quit understand that. I got TightVNC and I don't know what the options should be. When I tried REALVNC it said my NAT router firewall was blocking something, when I go to firewall options in controll pannel it says:"due to an unedentified problem, Windows can't open Firewall settings"
Help please :)

Did you follow this steps I listed?

Step #1: (see first post on how to) I've only used TightVNC but run the server app. If you have UAC on windows just right click the shortcut and select run as administrator. If you don't know just run as administrator.

Step #2 : (see first post on how to) See below, what you're interested in is highlighted red. This is the IP address you want to put in WiiVNC. This maybe listed in under the wired controller if you are wired, not wireless.

Hi, I"m sorry to reply again. When I try "cmd" and then type "ipconfig" the following shows up:

Connection-specific DNS suffix: Home
IP-Adress = 192.198.*:***
Subnet Mask = 255.255.255.0
Default gateway = 192.168.1.1

I don't see IPv4. Can you help me, please? (By the way, I use wireless connections.)

IPv4 is where it says IP-Address...

and it shouldn't show you ***

(and if you did that than there is no need... it's an internal IP addy... no need to be secret!)

and i doubt it is 192.198.
