MPlayer CE - Offline installation
April 17, 2010 07:34PM
Hello!

Does anybody have the tutorial for the MPlayer CE offline installation? My Wii does not have an Internet connection and therefore, I cannot proceed... The offline tutorial at the link: [www.wiibrew.org] has been removed...

Thank you!

You mean the cIOS? MPlayer CE can be "installed" (homebrew isnt actually installed, its run direct off SD, but whatever) like any other app, stick it in the "apps" folder on SD card and enjoy, so I assume you mean the IOS, which is the only thing related to MPlayer CE that can be installed. Anyway, enough rambling. I THINK the way its done is this:

make a folder on the root of your SD card called 00000001 and inside it a folder called 0000001F, then use NUSD to download title ID 000000010000001F, and copy all downloaded contents to inside the folder 00000001\0000001F on your SD card, then run the installer.

I have not personally tried this, but I think this is the way it was detailed in the guide that was there before.

EDIT: Actually it may be 3C instead of 1F in the above instructions... If one doesn't work, try the other, but I think its 3C
(i.e. download title ID 000000010000003C and put it in 00000001\0000003C on the SD card)

Hello SifJar,

You are completely right, I am talking about the cIOS. I am a newcomer here, so I have some doubts:

1) After downloading the NUSD (v1.4), I will run the program and get the title ID 000000010000001F. What would be the version number?

2) If it is title ID 000000010000003C instead of the previous one, what would be the version number?

3) Is the NUSD program used straight forwarded or, do I need to "tick" the other options: pack --> WAD, SaveAs, Ignore ticket, Local files...

4) Would you like me to confirm any other configuration (version number, etc) from my Wii before I proceed? Then we minimise any bricking risks ... If yes, how could I check it? Is there any application that provides a log file?

Thank you very much for your time and attention!

Download title ID 000000010000003C v6174 using NUSD. Leave all tickboxes etc. as they are, you don't need to pack to WAD. It doesn't matter on your System Menu, region etc., the cIOS is completely universal, and its practically impossible for it to brick you, as even if the install fails, it wont matter because the System Menu doesn't rely on the IOS it installs to (it installs to a blank, unused slot).

Hello Sifjar,

Thank you for your time. I downloaded the files as you suggested. Then, I added the downloaded folder (000000010000003Cv6174) to the directory 00000001\0000003C.

Then I tried to run the cIOS installer via the homebrew channel.

I selected the IOS36 for install. (it has the fake sign bug enabled)

It starts installing the IOS202.

Again, my Wii tried to download the IOS36 from the Internet...

** I also tried the same steps without the whole folder (000000010000003Cv6174), but just adding its content inside the directory 00000001\0000003C. The same behaviour happened... My Wii tried to connect to the the Internet.

Looking for your feedback!

Try downloading the oldest available version of 0000000100000024 instead.

Hello WikiFSX,

What would be the correct TMD #? I tried to use the previous one (v6174), but it did not work. I also tried to google for such a number, but I was not successful.

Thanx!

I thought the installer downloaded IOS60. As WikiFSX said, use 0000000100000024 as Title ID instead.

Hello guys!

As suggested, I downloaded the file having 0000000100000024 as title ID without any version number.

Then, I added the downloaded folder (0000000100000024) to the directory 00000001\00000024.

Then I tried to run the cIOS installer via the homebrew channel.

I selected the IOS36 for install. (it has the fake sign bug enabled)

It starts installing the IOS202.

Again, my Wii tried to download the IOS36 from the Internet...

** I also tried the same steps without the whole folder (0000000100000024), but just adding its content inside the directory 00000001\00000024. The same behaviour happened... My Wii tried to connect to the the Internet.

Looking for your feedback!

Hello jbc007!

It works very well... ! I tried with a hard-drive via the USB (different file formats) and a DVD movie, all worked 100%!

Nintendo should be sponsoring the project - it adds a major value to Wii as a product...!

Thank you!

PS.: SifJar & WikiFSX: thank you very much for all your support and help...!

If you have system menu 3.4 or newer, none of the IOSes on your wii have the fakesign bug unless you patch them. Use DOP-Mii to install IOS 36 with fakesigning.
