"not wii app"

hello. im new to this i just got the homebrew channle my wii is 3.4.
when i try to run most of the stock home brew apps .. stock as in the ones that come with it
and only the scummvm app works all the others say error not a wii application...
can any one help.
btw my sd is only 512mb but when i got hbc it said anything less then 2 gigs so i assumed it would work
can any one help i wanna use apps... lol other wise i got homebrew channle for nothing

If you get this message you're probably trying to load a .elf file. Look for a .dol file for the app you're trying to load.

HBC even tell you in the FAQ that you need to load dols.
