CleanRip - Why is this supported?

Hey chaps

Long time lurker, first time poster. Really appreciate the time and answers given on these forums, I've had a good Wii setup for around 6months now thanks to some of the advice given on here.

Maybe a strange opening post, but it's roamed around the back of my head whenever I'm on here lately - why do you advertise the program known as CleanRip (now 1.0.4 on the frontpage), given it's description is

"CleanRip is a Gamecube and Wii optical disc backup tool for the Nintendo Wii"

when you are so firmly against backups, given that the USP of this is only that it requires no installed CIOS'es? Admittedly I've not used it or gone into detail with it, so I may be missing something obvious?

In short:

It makes disc ISO's. It doesn't run them. It doesn't require any patching of IOS to work.

Long(er):

This functionality is extremely useful. For example, in order to develop a savegame exploit you need an ISO. Another example, this lets you easily rip your games so you can play them on Dolphin.

There is nothing "bad" about CleanRip.
