Snes9x GX Lag and Channel Installer Freeze

Snes9x GX controls lag about 2-5 seconds in Mario World, and also C-Left for menu. Once I'm there, it's fine.
The channel installer freezes on the Would you like screen, unresponsive to Gamecube and power and reset buttons.

BUMP Using hq2x and gamecube. Installing cheats doesn't help. (of course)

...Then turn off hq2x.

Pretty sure the author of the emulator knows what he's talking about. Do what he says.

...And the channel installer doesn't have gamecube controller support.
