Homebrew shows emulators, shows ROM files but wont play ROMs.

Ok, I have a baby blue Wii. Idk if that effects anything but figured I'd put it out there. Ive hacked my Wii before when I had a white one and a black one with no problems. I've got everything installed properly, Homebrew and all of that. The emulator channels are showing up, and the ROM files show up, but when I try to play them it either says unkown file type or that it cant open the file. What do I do.

Are they some sort of archive?

not that i know of, at first i had the issue of saying it couldnt open the directory, but then i reformatted the sd card and added the files back on. and now it shows the roms outside of the snes9xgx folder (same with the fceugx folder when i try to play NES roms) and it refuses to open them

and when i try to click on the folder itself it sends me back to the root of the sd card
