So can you use that settings.txt to fix your Wii?

Well, yes, if S_R could copy the NTSC-U Settings.txt BACK to my Wii, the problem would be solved.

It can, at least the link I gave had a version that could. You just put the settings.txt on the root of your SD card and try to find the option to restore it.

I don't know, I might be able to download it and figure it out for you later today, but I currently don't have access to a computer.

Well, I seem to have found out some stuff about S_R, and I took some pictures (it simply makes it easier to read) and it seems that it "fails" ES_Identify on IOS: 36.

It seems you dont have ES_Identify in IOS36 then. Simple solution. Download Dop-IOS MOD (http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Dop-IOS_MOD) and run it. Select to run on an IOS you have trucha bug in (I assume you have trucha bug in at least one IOS). Then select to install IOS36, and choose to patch ES_Identify into it. The other patches dont really matter. It will download IOS36 from NUS and patch it. Then exit the application and run S_R. It should now work fine.

Actually, you might want to install the older version of IOS36, because sometimes the patched IOS can still give errors.

Hey, once you get an IOS36 with the trucha bug, the button presses are very simple. If everything goes all right, the screen will say:

"IOS:36"

"Informing Wii that I am God...OK!"

"Initializing Filesystem...OK!"

At this point, press A. Then it will say:

"setting.txt found!"
"Replace setting.txt with SD card setting.txt?"
"----YES----NO----"

NO will be highlighted, so all you have to press is LEFT once and then A.

Well, when I get IOS36 with a trucha bug it will be September 9-10. (since my friend has my Datel Lan Adapter, and won't give it back)

So...we'll just have to wait to see if this works...but I'm pretty confident about MattMan and SifJar's way working.

You can use Dop-IOS without the internet. Use NUS Downloader to get the necessary files for IOS36.
I could explain the rest in detail if you want.

Yes, you can get the files with that. You don't need to pack it into a WAD.
You can choose IOS36 from the database and click Start NUS Download
When you use it, it should create a folder "0000000100000024v3094" or whatever version you want.
On your SD card, make a folder called "00000001". In that folder, make another folder called "00000024". In that folder, make another folder called "v3094" (or whatever version you have). In that folder, put the contents of the "0000000100000024v3094" folder inside.

Then run Dop-IOS and instead of connecting to a network, it will find the files on the SD card.

Thanks! Now after I install BootMii, and create NAND backup, I will try Dop-IOS MOD.

Then as a safety precaution, after I get the Wii back in NTSC-U, I will NAND Backup again.

Its not trucha bug you need (although you probably need that too). Its ES_Identify. To be sure, install all patches.

And now it even Dop-IOS MOD spits out a -1017 error of sorts at me...

I just kept pressing A and eventually to a Press A to continue screen.

Then the screen filled with numbers and the phrase "SD Card Load" and "-1017"

S_R has no difference whatsoever.

And HackMii installer failed. It just spit random numbers as a result saying something about a "exception"

If anyone wants pics, let me know.

EDIT: I got the pics, one of them even says: ERROR: Something failed ret 0.

Try telling Dop-IOS MOD to run off a different IOS.

How? I don't see the option anywhere...
(As if you could call anything that goes on in my head , "seeing")
