Falling Sand Wii?

Anyone else think a Wii version would be nice? I have no knowledge of coding in general, but I would love to see it done. Perhaps box2d would aid in such a project, but I really have no idea.
Just throwing out the suggestion.

i would be preety sweet, id like to see it on the wii, i think it should also come with the coding for it, so u can change the sand falling and what not right from your wii

Well it looks like it would be pretty simple for someone to make a port of they could maybe use WiiPhysics as a base for the code and work from that.

... if it's a port, the physics are already in the starting code... but if you port it by completely rewriting the code... yes, then you can use Box2D, which is used by WiiPhysics.

Well its written in java so a direct port isn't possible i'm pretty sure but i could be wrong.

Java and C++ are very similiar (practically the same in some ways). Could I get my hands on the image files somehow?

EDIT: Yes, its in C++. I just downloaded the source.

I'm not actively working on a port but I could. However, I would need the image files.

You might consider asking here for what you need [www.fallingsandgame.com] it seems there are already a couple ports of the game to ds as well as many others.

heres a sdl port of sand that may be easier to work with [sourceforge.net]

I'll do it if you can find me at least one capable programmer to work with. I haven't released anything on wii yet (but I will soon see my topic in coding). I'm confident in my own abilities to port it but just in case, I would definitely like another coder to help me. PM me or post here if anyones interested in working with me.

Well there are lots of idleing people on #WiiDev and #WiiHelp so i would go there they will help you with what you need.

The source uses OpenGL so it would be tricky to port. I know we have an sdl library so we mwy be able to port that. Honestly, though I don't know anything about sdl, but I'm more than willing to learn it :)

well a lot of different programs on Wii use sdl maybe look at one of them to see how it works.
