Does anybody knows how to play soccer? because I want to drink soda and it's tuesday. :D!

You don't need to update to 4.2 to start buying games again. Update the shop channel, there's plenty of topics about this at the moment. Read around or around...

This could help you with your other issue but the system menu has a superpowerful application capable of deleting the most terrible things any of us has ever heard of.

Gamma doesn't affect the Disc Channel in any way, but there is no reason to have it on your Wii.

Find the title ID of the backup loader and delete it with AnyTitle Deleter.

Really my bro said the disc channel simply wont work as long as gamma is installed.

your "bro" is an idiot. seriously.

anyway, there is no reason not to upgrade to the latest System Menu. You can just update through WiFi or a disk (update HBC first if you want to keep it), and even your fail backup loader will still be there after the update. Wont work properly though. Anyway, an official update will cause no harm, and having gamma installed wont prevent an update, nor will it prevent disc channel working.

That would be your brother who's lieing. Apparently he's into myths and legends, not facts. Why don't you get him on here?

Either your brother is lying to you for the bant, or else he actually believes what he's telling you, in which case he is very misinformed. Disc channel works fine regardless of what you do to your wii, and Ninty will NEVER deliberately brick you for homebrew (its illegal for them to). Although Shop Channel may not work for you, because your misinformed brother probably doesn't know how to update only the Shop Channel.

To use the Shop Channel, just use Dop-IOS MOD to download IOS60, IOS61, and the Shop Channel.

And IOS 70 (might be wrong though)

I might be wrong but I believe someone on this forum said that it didn't work until they did that...

I edited my other post while you were posting :)

The shop channel does not require IOS 70. I installed the latest shop channel with WiiSCU version 0.21 but never installed IOS 70 and it works fine.

Dop-IOS Mod is a program that downloads IOSes, channels, and system menus from Nintendo's servers and installs them on your wii. IOS 60 is used by system menu 4.0 and 4.1. IOS 61 is used by the shop channel. IOS 70 is used by system menu 4.2.

Reinstalling MIOS and maybe BC as well should allow you to run game cube games through the disc channel. You can download these with NUS Downloader.

Probably because the gamecube warez loader effs up your Wii's internals and the Wii's native functions don't like it...

Okay, so here is what you do:
1. Download Dop-IOS MOD v8.
2. Select IOS30 the first time it asks you.
3. Go to IOSes and download the latest versions of IOS60 and 61, + or - Trucha. If MIOS and BC are listed there too, download them. (This will stop NeoGamma from working, but you are going to remove it anyway.)
4. Go to Channels and download the latest Shop Channel.
5. Delete NeoGamma.

You are done.
