Installing after SD card update

I've been thinking about getting the HBC for a while, but was always worried about issues with updates. I already have the latest update that allows for increased SD card uses, but can I still install the HBC? So far, all I have seen is "Previously installed HB will not be affected". Can I still install it, though?
