Savegame Extractor Error (ret =-1)

Ok, my old wii broke, i had homebrew and everything, no errors or nothing. i have my new wii and i have homebrew but when i use the savegame extractor i get this error ''Error! [ret = -1]''

Can someone please help me?

Funny, I used tuna's PatchMii cIOS and I could extract/install the savegames just fine using Savegame Manager. After I updated the Savegame Manager it couldn't do it anymore.

Try using Savegame Manager and tona's PatchMii cIOS instead.

you're probably using an sdhc card aren't you? savegame extractor only works with sd cards.

I used an USB stick and it worked fine until I updated the program through HBB.

hmm... i've never tried it that route.... I got that error when trying to use sdhc cards though.

oh, and there is a newer program out now that combines the savegame extractor and installer into one program, but it screws with something inside the wii the others didn't mess with.

What does savegame manager screw with inside the wii?

read this. ok, so it doesn't screw with what you've got, but you do have to have cIOS 249

1. I formatted my wii
2. reinstalled homebrew through bannerbomb
3. I have 4.2 system menu
4. i tried savegame manager, just a black screen
5. savegame extractor = ret = -1 error

Let me make this clear. Formatting will NEVER fix homebrew issues. It doesn't change the system menu, IOSs. Also, 4.2 messes with many things. You fail for updating. Just install cIOS 249 for savegame manager. Google it and please use NUSD. No IOS downloading. NUSD doesn't count.
