I updated my Wii to 4.2U last night. I did the BannerBomb exploit to install the HBC. Everything went in ok. Played a couple of games and everything was fine. I tried to play Metroid 3 this morning and got the "problem occurred when loading" message. The game disk is fine(ie. no dust, dirt, prints etc.). This is the only game that I have that it does it to. I have tried to uninstall everything(HBC, and BootMii...not installing DVDx) and it still doesn't load. Anyone know if this is a Wii console issue, or a bad disk, or something that was installed???

Probably an issue with Hardware. Try to use Homebrew Disc Channel to see if it loads OK.

Is this downloaded from the HBC????

Yes. If it's too much hassle, try to play a DVD in Mplayer CE. Do you know any DVD's that work?

Downloaded Mplayer CE...program loaded, but the DVD wouldn't mount. Using Pirates 3 if that matters.

Did that ever work before? Did you re-install DVDx?

It did work before the update to 4.2...it isn't working now.

For some reason....the game loaded just fine for once....turned it off to see if it would load all of the time and it didn't. I'm at a loose here....about ready to give up....

Probably a hardware error. Sorry, I think it has to go to the big N. But before we make any important decisions we could ask someone else. Edit your first post to make it sound like a cry for help lol.

You can't use DVDs with MPlayer CE on system menu 4.2 until it is updated to work with the new DVDx, unless you install the MPlayer cIOS.

Oh, yes, thanks. That's why I said that in my last post. But after you install DVDx with Hackmii Installer, it loads the HBC automatically not giving the Wii time to delete it, correct?

True, but only if you use Hackmii Installer 0.4 or older. If you use a newer one it will install the new DVDx which will not work with anything yet.

Edit: If I remember correctly, 4.2 fixes the bug used by the old Hackmii Installer, so an older IOS must be installed before using it.

I think that he would also need to downgrade an IOS to use it.

Sure, but it may be better for him to install the MPlayer cIOS rather than the old DVDx since it will not be deleted by the system menu.
