MPlayer CE won't play DVDs

Hi,

i have recently installed HBC, DVDx and BootMii (unfortunately only IOS install) on my Wii (version 3.4E console). I used the latest HackMii installer and Bannerbomb v1. I have tried to play a DVD using MPlayer CE but I can't seem to get it to work. Can someone let me know what I need to do to get this to work?

I expect it is something simple.

Get the 3.4 DVDx installer and run it. The problem is that the latest version of DVDx doesnt work with mPlayer CE yet, but on 3.4 you can run the 3.4 installer and get the old DVDx with no conflict.

Where can i get the 3.4 installer? Thanks.

I'm having the same problem also. I know I have the most current DVDx but I still can't get DVD's to load. I tried uninstalling and then re-installing it but to no avail, then I thought maybe the older version would work but I get an error when I try to install. Re-did the 3.4 and successful install, but still nothing.

System Menu: 4.2U
IOS: cIOS 249

Are you using MPlayer CE .76? If not, you need to update to version .76. Alternately, you could install the USB 2.0 cIOS, that will allow you to play DVDs in MPlayer CE without DVDx.

I have version .76. Did install the USB 2.0 cIOS but nothing. Disks starts spinning then stops after 5 secs. Checked it using regular DVD player, disk is fine.

Previously, I did send my Wii to Nintendo to get the disk tray replaced. While dopping IOS30, to get get HBC back, I noticed that all my IOS's current versions were newer than the "Install latest version". So I dopped IOS36 down and trucha'd IOS56. That's all the messing around I've done to it. Could these be the problem?

Note: My Wii was originally a 4.0 but I used StartPatch to get to 4.2.

Edit: If I let WiiConnect24 update the Wii, should I expect bricking? If so, What would I undo and/or redo to before hand?

Oh, you must have a new disc drive that can't play DVDs. Currently, there is no way to get it to play a DVD.

That sucks, and there's no helping it. Thanks for all the help.

Edit: Quick question, now that I have the USB 2.0 installed, I can use any HDD right?
