If you haven't seen the video just youtube it.
Has anyone tried this and does it work. Basically you plug a gamecube controller into port 4 and press the d-pad down in every direction. It supposedly acts just like savemii
edit: i just tried it and it does work. I took apart my controller broke off the pin that prevents you from pushing down in every direction and put it back together.
edit: I am not responsible if you break your controller.
It sure beats paying 30$ although I wouldn't call it savemiifrii I would call it savemiichiip

well, i just tried it with 2 different controllers and it didn't work
i didn't use official nintendo controllers though, so that may be why

Are you sure your holding down in every direction because I read somewhere that some people use third party controllers that allow you to press down in every direction. Also is it plugged in port 4?

yeah, i might have not pressed all of them.
but i don't need it or anything, i just wanted to try it

It's physically impossible to press in every direction without opening it up.

Does it work if you do open it up?

read my post i did take my controller apart
edit: ok here's how you make the controller step one take apart the controller. step two remove the d-pad. step three use a pair of pliers to break off the post that prevents you from pushing down in every direction. step four reassemble the controller. step five plug the controller into PORT FOUR. step six hold down the d-pad IN EVERY DIRECTION. step seven turn on your wii.
If you decide to do this you are doing this on your own and i am not responsible if you render your controller useless
