StartPatch error.

Hello I apologize if this isn't the correct board to post this on. But I'm having a problem with the StartPatch system tool. It launches but sends me back to the Homebrew channel. Here is the exact message it gives: "_Identify (as SU).... Error: -1017."

"Returning to loader..."

I put the folder in the App folder on my SD Card and downloaded the correct wii system menu version. (4.1 U)

Try StartPatch MOD since you're lacking the cIOS StartPatch needs to run.

Alright it seems to be working. But its asking me which IOS I would like to use and I don't want to choose anything because I have no idea what I'm doing. As I said before I'm running 4.1 U. What IOS should I choose?

you need to choose a truchaed IOS.

Or in other words, an IOS that accepts fakesigning. If you dont have one, use trucha bug restorer to install one.

I appreciate the help but could you please be a little more specific? It has a bunch of numbers (60 61 etc.) I tried 60 but got the same error. I'm guessing its not a truchaed IOS.

use trucha bug restorer to restore it to IOS 36 then choose 36 in that list of numbers

Ok so on the Trucha bug restorer I choose on the IOS36new right? So then I keep everything on the default its on and choose "Install patched IOS36" and then I choose "(Load IOS from sd card)" (Because I'm doing everything through SD Card) and then it says it can't load stuff...

Yeah I'm lost... the whole reason I want the Startpatch program is to stop my Wii from getting the system updates from new discs.. are there any alternatives if I still can't be helped with the trucha bug restorer and startpatch?

do you have wi-fi? if you do, choose to get from NUS instead, but if you don't use NUSD to download them.

Remember to follow the instructions carefully on the wiki.

Isn't there an option to complete the process over the internet?

Instructions

1. Select IOS36, downgrade IOS15.
2. Select IOS15, go to the IOS36 menu, install patched IOS36 (trucha + identify) to IOS36.
3. Select IOS36, restore IOS15.

Yeah I have WiFi. I went through it basically says I need to use the IOS15.

did you choose IOS 15 at the very beggining of the start of the app?

Hello, I'm having a problem with StartPatch on my Wii, I click on the Startpatch app on the Homebrew channel & it comes up with:
Press A to continue (TAKE THE RISK).
Press B to abort
I press A & then it comes up with:
Es_Initalize ErrorError: -6.

Returning to Loader...

But it never returns to the loader, I'm using Version 4.3.1 & leaving the StartPatch IOS selection at 249. But nothing is happening, can anyone please help me out with this?
