Launching a locally stored website?

Launching a locally stored website?
March 27, 2010 12:37AM
I'd like to use my Wii in an art installation and would like to store a website on it (either via Wii Web Server or just flat files) and have the console boot up the web browser to view it. Is it possible to launch a locally stored website?

I know there are lots of issues with this – such as the user being able to quit back to home – but any advice would be appreciated about where I might start.

Thanks,
emsef

You can't run the web server and the Internet Channel at the same time.

If running Linux, however, you could run Apache and some browser simultaneously.

Your idea would absolutely not work.

And I honestly feel it's not worth your time trying to make WikiFSX's suggestions work. Even if you did, it probably would not work as well you would hope (super slow, cumbersome, annoying, etc.)

Just use a computer or a laptop.

Thanks for the advice.

Let me rephrase the question: "Can I browse files stored locally (SD or USB) from the Internet Channel?"

No, you can't load anything on SD/USB with Opera.
