Updating from 3.2u to 4.3u and keep homebrew channel?

Well I'm trying to update my wii to 4.3u from 3.2u because of the new netflix channel in the wii store. Anyways I don't want to brick my wii when updating and I don't want to lose homebrew channel since I use it for brawl minus and such. Anyways does anyone know if this is possible? and also would I be needing hackmii? I've been out of touch with the homebrew scene for a while and any help would be appreciated.

First install the homebrew channel using the hackmii installer. You can run it through an exploit or the homebrew channel (put the boot.elf in a folder inside the apps folder [like any other app]).

After installing the latest homebrew channel you can update and it won't be deleted.

Once everything is done run the hackmii installer again and re-install the homebrew channel, by doing this you will be able to use USB devices with homebrew.

No -
Newer system menus delete the HBC if found
Newer HBCs can't be found
Updating the HBC before system menu means it'll never be found.
