Disscusion:March 2011 update Nintedo channel.

Is it safe to update I haven't seen any news on it. do I use dop mii. What's the deal. Thanks in advance as always.

I came looking for the same info... bummer...

I took a chance last night and updated. The only documentation I could find from Nintendo was that the channel update supports the 3DS, which makes no sense, but I took a chance anyhow.

No ill effects as of yet. Homebrew Channel launches fine. Homebrew Browser launches. SNES9X-GX played fine. Wii2600 played fine. I'm assuming the rest played fine as well.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's just a channel update. It doesn't come from NUS and it's not a System Update.

so It harmless. I go update through them. you havent led me wrong yet.

So did you get some announcement mail about the ninch update, or did ninch display an error saying it needs updated via shop? ninchdl-listext isn't detecting any new version, the dl-list version never changed. :-/
For 3DS support maybe they mean WMB 3DS-protocol support for demos etc,(although eshop will have demos too, whenever it's released in May) that would be the only 3DS thing that would need an update imo.

I got a message about it IIRC, but I can't remember actually updating it...But I think I can still launch the channel. Can't remember exactly I'm afraid. I think they were just adding information about 3DS titles or something.
