Black screen with a twist

hi anyone/everyone

does anyone know if the installation of homebrew can affect the wireless router access.

i cant get any channels such as shopping/internet/speak etcetc..

tried reinstalling shopping channel(for the millionth time) and got a fail with error 1017.

according to nintendo this can be dodgy wireless connection although i have not tried adjusting router channels as

I had no problems pre installing homebrew.

the strange thing is my connection test shows up ok but then wont let me update and fails.

one other thing..when trying to access channels ive noticed my wiimote freezing then i get the black screen and have to reboot my wii..

any ideas ??

Installing HBC could not cause this. However if you followed a stupid "softmod guide", you have probably messed up several IOS in your Wii. If that is the case, it could potentially be tricky to fix. I advise the first thing you do is run SysCheck and post the results here.

an update....

news and Mii channels now appear to start but then black screen after approx 5 seconds.

internet/shopping/speak channels do not start and black screen as soon as pressing start on wiimote.

A few minimally patched IOS, which shouldn't affect channel loading and a bunch of warez cIOS, which again shouldn't affect loading regular channels. Also not that should affect updating. (Do you have Priiloader? Or did you use StartPatch to apply patches to the System Menu? Those could both block updates). An illegal version of IOS15. Yup, looks like you followed a fail "softmod guide" from somewhere.

Having said that, I have no idea what exactly is causing your issues. All I can recommend is removing all IOS patches (replacing each patched IOS with a clean version). If that doesn't fix it, I have no idea I'm afraid.

i didnt blame HBC...i asked a question.

obviously your too thicj to know the answer cos ive aksed a couple of questions and no one one has any idea.

ive fixed it myself...was so simple...surprised you couldnt work it out.

ill go join a better forum.
