having problem getting 2nd controller to work

for the Snes and Nes emulators.

i have the new black wii and latest emulators.

the black controller works for both, but i cant get the 2nd to work once the emulators are loaded.

both work when i havent clicked on the homebrew channel.

my 2nd controller wont even turn on after i hit buttons once im in the emulators.

I'm having this exact problem. I was blaming my awful knock off wiimote. Anyone have any suggestions?

You need to sync the wiimotes. Use the red sync buttons next to the Wii's SD slot and next to the wiimote battery. Do this in the system menu. Refer to the Wii user manual or google it if you don't know how to do it.

Ok, so, can you sync using the red buttons after the emulator has started? Since there is no using the system menu at that point. If it doesn't work with the red button are you out of luck at that point?
