Hello everyone!

So, i was reading on how to transfer content from a Wii to a Wii U and saw that transferred data is permanently deleted from the Wii console. If i were to make a backup with "BootMii IOS" before transferring, would i be able to safely restore the original data to the Wii after the transfer? Would that work or is there no other way than a "BootMii Boot2" backup and restore? I ask this because I have one of the newer wii's that can only use the IOS option. Thanks for the answers!

You cannot restore a NAND backup on one Wii to another, from Bootmii/Boot2 or Bootmii/IOS. The decryption/encryption keys are different.

I never said anything about transferring it to a different wii

Oh, sorry, I misread. You should be able to restore with Bootmii/IOS, fairly safely but slightly less so than with Boot2
