Installing BHC - Stuck on scam screen (press 1 does not appear)

Background: I am trying to install HBC on my wii with system version 3.4U. I am using bannerbomb and Hackmii v1.2.

What happens: I get all the way to the scam warning screen, and then it freezes. No "press 1" message, no nothing. The wii then only responds to being unplugged.

Any ideas?

My Wii u has updated firmware to 3.0.1
When I was installing hbc, I notice the same thing. In progress it comes to that point with blinking
Press 1 but the controller' input has no response. It gets stuck totally and I end up unplugging. Help plz..

UPDATE IT.

Oh wait, wiiu. Go back to the wiiu menu and reorder the wiimotes to make sure the wiiu pro controller isn't controller number 1.
