Putting the Android Software on Wii

I admit its a little naive, but damn it, it seems cool to me. I'm just wondering if it would be possible, and if possible, would it be legal?

Could you provide links with what this is for those of us who don't.

To clarify, I am speaking of the new OS for phones made by Google entitled Android. Here is the official page about it for those who dont know and havent heard of Google. [code.google.com]

why would we want to use a phone os on the wii? I think maybe the code would take a lot to make work considering how different a cell phones hardware would be then the wii.

I have to agree with Link, why would you port software based for a telecomunications devise to a console dedicated for games and basic multimedia? Considering the difference in CPU structures, it wouldn't be a simple port, large rebuilds possibly, but who knows.

Maybe we could use parts of it for an emulator for cell phone games?

It's not a port of google earth it's a port of google map's. I'd rather have google earth though ;)

even if you did port it, phone apps will be nowhere as near good enough to display on a TV, it was also build using the Linux kernal which has already been ported.

A mobile device OS has essentially nothing to do with the Wii. It wouldn't help anything to be "ported," and that in itself would be a waste of effort. *lock*
