Stuck at language screen

Hello,

I've got a defective NTSC-U Wii from a friend, which I can keep if I repair it.
It still outputs video, but won't sync any remote.

When I power it on, it shows the language select screen which every brand new Wii shows.
But the problem is that I can't get past it, because I can't connect a wiimote....

What could be defective in the Wii?

Did you try to sync it via the 2 red buttons?
One is on the Wii, behind the SD flap, the other is on the Wiimote, in the battery compartment.

If that doesn't work, your hardware maybe defective.
Can you try other Wiimotes?


Is the Wii modded in any form? You might wanna send it in.

I tried to sync many remotes, using the red buttons, but that doesn't work.

It's a brand new wii, but I haven't got the warranty documents because I lost them :-$
So I can't send it in


The wii has never been opened.

Could it be the Bluetooth card? Or would a defective Bluetooth card completely prevent the console from outputting video?

Defective BT module would make it not boot at all

Maybe it's a defective BT module in the remote.
Try a different wiimote and see if that works.

You guys are thinking too hard. Hold down the Sync button on the Wii for two minutes straight while the system is on, then try to sync your Wiimote. It fixed my console.

Then It might be that the bluetooth in the wii is messed up. I think it's possible to solder in a new one, but I don't know how.

He probably can't turn the Wii on with his Wii Remote because it isn't synced to his Wii!

I ordered a replacement bluetooth module and I took my Wii apart to the point where it allows you to replace the bluetooth module. I took the old Bluetooth module out of it (it's solderless) and I am now waiting for the new one, which I expect Monday or Thuesday.
