Those who were able to recover can post information to this thread so other users can see if they are covered with the recovery from savemii.

This can be the template

1. System menu version after brick (for banner bricks it shouldn't change)
2. Type of brick (banner brick / semi-brick / opera error etc...)
3. Cause of brick (what did you last to cause the brick)
4. Your modchip (if any)
5. Software used to recover from brick (game with update X.Y, autoboot Zelda game, anyregion changer... whatever..)

2. Type of brick : Opera error, Branch C: “Full Brick” on Wii Troubleshooting Diagrams

3. Cause of brick : Updated to NTSC US with PAPER MARIO US

4. Your modchip : Wiinja deluxe

5. Software used to recover from brick

wii-system-menu-update-PAL-v290.iso
BootMe.exe

So I burned an autoboot version of the wii-system-menu-update-PAL-v290.iso

1. System menu version after brick: 2.2E (tried downgrading to 2.1E)
2. Type of brick :semi brick
3. Cause of brick : well i was kiiiinda bored so i just messed about with the downgrader so much that i stopped when i got a semi brick, went from 3.3E v2 to 2.2E (wat i had when i bought the wii) for some reason it semi bricked when i tried downgrading so i thought id stop before i do any more damage. oh i have advice to everyone: IF YOU GET BORED NEVER EVER PLAY THE DOWNGRADING GAME LIKE I DID COZ YOULL REGRET IT!I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET A SEMI BRICK RATHER THAN BRICK.
4. Your modchip: wasabi 1.3
5. Software used to recover from brick: semi brick disc fix
6. no i didnt need savemii coz if u have a chip u dont need savemii to unbrick a semi bricked wii

Here is the end of my adventure...

1. System menu version after brick : 3.2U
2. Type of brick : banner brick (bad unexpected u8 header (lz77 compressed) )
3. Cause of brick : tried to make a custom banner for boulderdash game I injected into International Karate
4. Your modchip : d2c pro gw 601, but I used a wiikey2 modded drive to unbrick since d2c pro was not letting me autoboot
5. Software used to recover from brick : iso template with homebrew channel, region patched to my wiikey2's region (pal) and autoboot patched...

I had to open up both wiis and put the wiikey2 drive into the bricked wii...

1. System menu version after brick - not sure, but a Japanese one
2. Type of brick - Semi-Brick (couldn't open the configuration menu)
3. Cause of brick - UK Mario Kart I think, or could have been something else
4. Your modchip - D2CKey (I think, can't be sure as it was in when I bought it)
5. Software used to recover from brick (Twilight Hack, then AnyRegion Changer to take it to English Menus, then set up WiFi and then downgraded to 3.2E using AnyRegion Changer again). Now i've got English menus, and I can run my Japanese games using Menu Loader - result ;)

icefire, does savemiifrii honestly work?
Re: Success stories
January 24, 2009 05:41AM
Haven't tried it, but I think it does if you open up the controller.

SaveMiiFrii does infact work

Things you will need:
Gamecube controler(preferably corded)
Triwing screwdriver
and patience

it may not work the first few times because you need to hold the game pading down to complete the circuits on the d pad
just try to hold: up down left right at the same time... but it works!

but i do suggest going with The Savemii because its a indispenceable tool and honestly this "Savemiifrii" was a kick in the nads for these guys... SUPPORT THEM!
